Rare and strange hosta from Japan that doesn't look much like a hosta. It forms small rosettes of glossy leaves about 3" across. Likes constant moisture in rich soil, but will not tolerate soggy conditions. Good trough or rock garden plant.

This is the curious twisted-leaf hosta that is apparently a form of the very late-blooming tardiflora; it blooms at the same time and the flowers are the same. It is a very nice woodland or rock garden plant with tough, thick, glossy leaves. The amount of twisting of the leaf varies; ours are most twisty when they have only a little shade and not too much fertilizer. Easy but slow to divide.

This is a fairly new Japanese selection of the "thumbnail hosta" which is a fair description of its foliage size; the leaves are actually little hearts. This selection has a gold margin on each leaf, neat and pretty. There are 6" scrapes of lavender bells too.
