Lilium

There are too many Lilium hybrids that sometimes like artifitial, but Lilium species has different beauty with elegance. We offer Japanese native Lilium species and selections, which could not available widely.

Magnificent late-summer-blooming lily from Japan with enormous white flowers banded and spotted with gold.
Lilium japonicum f. albomarginatum Zones 5-8 #058-001
Extremely rare woodland lily with elegant pale pink trumpet flowers in June. This wild form from Shikoku has leaves with frosted white edges. Moist, well-drained soil in light shade, excellent rock garden plant. Very fragrant.
Lilium maclatum ssp.davuricum f. rebunense Zones 4-9 #058-004
Rare and exciting lily from Rebun Island in the far north of Japan, where it grows among rocks and in sand near the ocean. The tough stems reach only about 5 inches tall, but are topped with one to three upfacing bowl-shaped orange flowers with dark spots. Easy in well drained soil in sun to light shade. Beautiful trough or rock garden subject.
Lilium medeoloides Zones 4-8 #058-002
Rare Japanese woodland lily with whorled foliage and nodding orange flowers. Called "wheel lily" in Japan because of the "wheels" of foliage. Best in cool summer climates. Needs a rich, humus-rich well-drained soil, moist throughout the growing season.
Lilium triginum Double flower 'Kagaribi' Zones 4-8 #058-006
A magnificent new full-double tiger lily from Japan with large many-petaled flowers. This Kagaribi was found in Kumamoto pref., Kyusyu area about 6 years ago and I got a bulb from a collector. I propagate from offsets and finally offer for overseas. Vigorous and easy to grow.
