Japanese Hepatica (Hepatica nobilis var. japonica f. magna)

 

 

Single selection

'Toyama-Shigure'

Blue splashed flower with green stems. The amount of spots are variable every year.

'Hana-Fubuki'

Red splashed flower with green stems. The amount of spots are variableevery year.

'Velvet Red' strain

In the wild, we can see white, pale pink and pale purple Hepatica. But dark colors are very rare, especially dark red. Over the breeding, finally we reached dark red strains. Very rare.

'Velvet Violet' strain

Because of the breeding efforts, we finally reached dark violet colors. Dark violet deep colors are one of my fevorite!

 

'Salmon Pink' strain

No one expected this color, like cherry blossom. One of the miracle color!

'Murasaki Amime'

Purple vein with white petal.

 

Double Selection

'Kei-Setsu' white full double

The meanink of 'Kei-Setsu' is fluorescent snow. Pure white good shapes of full double.

'Kan-Setsu' white full double

Another good shaped white full double. 'Kan-Setsu' means snow crown and cap snow.

'Fu-Setu' white Karako-Sandan

We has several types of double form. Karako-Sandan is combination of Karako (=anemone center) and Sandan (=pistil mutation to petals). Fu-Setsu means snow storm.

'Orihime' pink full double

One of the best pink full double cultivar. This is old cultivar but still popular in Japan.

'Sango-Kaku' pink vein full double

Pale pink with pink vein full double with good shape.

'Yu-Zuru' pink/green full double

Bicolor full double, pink outside and fade green to center with red margine. One of the best hepatica from Japanese Hepatica.

'Mentaiko' salmon/red full double

Sometimes color is variable, pink/salmon pink/red. Propagation is very slow.

'Shi-Hou' purple full double

'Shi-Hou' means purple peak. One of the best dark purple full double.

'Shikou' purple/pink full double

Outside purple fade to pink inside. 'Shikou' means shining purple.

'Shizuka' purple/white full double

Pale purple and white bicolor full double. Big flower.

'Rokkasen' purple/white full double

Dark purple and white centered full double.Rare cultivar.

'Sou-Ryu' blue Nidan-Karako

Dark Blue double-anemone centerd flower. 'Sou-ryu' means blue dragon.

'Shin-Ryoku' pink/white/green Sandan

Pink margened white petals with green Sandan center.

'Wakamusha' purple/green/black Sandan

Purple petal with green center with black margine.One of my favorite.

'Ranmaru' pink Nidan-Karako

Pink Nidan-Karako(double anemone centered). The shapes of flowers are variable depend on vigorousty.
